Octish is the ancient language of octopuses, spoken by the holy octopus [[Oobu]] and his family. Some Tarvunian words, for instance '[[hebbo]]' and '[[bebbo]]', are Octish in origin.

The words are made by the controlled release of air-bubbles, and as such can only be heard underwater.

Octish is seldom spoken nowadays, however it still survives in literature in translations of the [[Tarvunty]], the Christian Bible, and many Dickens novels.

It is of course still a living languge in the octopus world - with many different dialects.
